In 1988, the factory began producing the «Luch-2361» – a 23 mm quartz movement with a stepper motor. These were wristwatches with an alarm that could sound at a set time. Production ended in 2003.
In the 1980s, the Minsk Watch Factory also made miniature alarm clocks using the «Luch-18502» and «Luch-18511» movements. «The Luch-18502» had 16 ruby stones and ran for at least 33 hours on a full wind. It had an electric alarm powered by a 1.5V battery.
The «Luch-18511», an improved version, also had 16 jewels and a run time of at least 35 hours. Its unique feature – unmatched in the USSR at the time – was built-in lighting and a choice of melodies. The electric alarm could play three melodies or a beeping signal. A folding stand allowed it to be used both as a table clock and a travel clock (14).
